Once enabled, you can then install apps using APK file from any app on your phone, like file manager, browser, etc. But it’s not that easy with Android Oreo.
Think about it: Apple could as well introduce “sideloading” for applications in iOS 5. Android users, in fact, have been able to install apps from unknown sources (sideload, indeed) for a long time now. All you have to do to enable the feature on Android is set a preference in the settings, and the OS becomes capable of loading app packages from sources external to the Marketplace. Check the box next to Unknown Sources. Turning this option on will let you install apps on your device from sources other than the Play Store. You will have to confirm your action in a pop-up box. On some devices, you may need to slide a switch instead of checking a box. In this case, slide the Unknown Sources switch to On position. From there you can enable that app to allow future installations without being blocked. This new feature lets us have more flexibility over which apps need permission and which do not. This is especially useful for people who do not have access to the Play Store.
